Dormant Deposits Regulation

In accordance with the Regulation on Dormant Deposits (Decree of the President of the Republic dated 22 June 2007, No. 116 – published in the Official Gazette No. 178 of 2 August 2007), please note that the legislation on dormant deposits applies to the following categories of relationships, provided that the value of the assets exceeds €100:

  • Deposits of money made with the intermediary and subject to a repayment obligation (for example, current accounts, savings books – registered and/or bearer – and certificates of deposit);

  • Deposits of financial instruments held in custody and administration;

  • Insurance contracts referred to in Article 2, paragraph 1, of Legislative Decree No. 209 of 7 September 2005, in all cases where the insurer undertakes to pay an annuity or a lump sum to the beneficiary on a predetermined date.
